Welcome to Eastern Region

The post of Regional Rep for this region is currently vacant.  Please do get in touch if you'd like condsider this role and would like further information. 

We have 6 counties in our region:  Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

We campaign on many issues:   With Colchester and Whipsnade zoos and Sea World in our area we often join those campaigning against the cruelty of zoos and circuses.  We are travel regularly to London to take part in demos with CIWF, CAPS, League Against Cruel Sports and many others and to Ipswich with KAALE to protest against the live export trade.

We are supporters of Animal Aid in Southend and Hillside Animal Sanctuary in Norfolk
We hold street stalls in all our counties and hand out leaflets to educate the public on animal issues and arrange presentations for vegan outreach and to promote and explain the philosophy of speciesism.

We believe in peaceful protest to bring about political and legal change for non-human animals.  
We believe that all our local Green Party groups should have an Animal Protection Officer on committee to confirm our commitment to animal issues.  

 

 

We have officers in Colchester, Brentwood, Chelmsford, South Woodham Ferrers,  Maldon and Burnham but there are many other local groups in our area still waiting to appoint an officer.  If you are a Green Party member and would be interested in becoming an APO please contact me.
Sometimes when joining a new group it can be a little daunting  to attend on your own on the first visit.  Our Animal Protection Officers can support you in this and will help you to attend and take part.
